Rena Mack

Dear friends,

Last Sunday our dear sister in Christ Rena Mack went home to be with Jesus. Her battle with cancer lasted just about two years and her last moments were spent with the family she loved so deeply. It was my honor to have several conversations with Rena during her last year and I can say from first hand experience that she maintained a joyful perspective through some pretty tough circumstances.

Fools for a cause!

What a great week we are having at VBS!! 300 kids and 100 leaders are having a terrific time in our "High Seas Expedition". I have had the distinct honor of being "Sailor Jack" each morning during our large group time. What a hoot!! I get to hang out with 300 of the coolest kids and 100 of the greatest leaders in the world and make a fool of myself for an awesome cause. The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 4:10 that we are fools for Christ.

Questions...

Last weekend we started our dive into the Book of Ecclesiastes. Solomon sure has a lot of questions! Every time I read his assessment of life as "meaningless" it causes me to take some time out and think deeply about what life is all about. Deep questions demand deep responses. Have you taken some time lately to dive deep with God and try to fathom how God could send Jesus, His Son, to die so that we might live? It is definitely not meaningless!

Project Finishing Up!!

Those have to be the best words I have ever seen posted to a "Project Update" site by our Aspen, http://www.aspengroup.com/gsl/index.html. How cool is that! We are really looking forward to a great season of ministry in our new space. Stay tuned for more updates!
