Godspeed: The Journey to...
The spiritual life is portrayed as a journey in the scriptures and throughout the history of the church in virtually every tradition. The idea of journey is implicit in Jesus' call for us to "Follow Him" wherever he leads.
Every journey starts with a thought; a vision;a choice. When we plan for a trip we have a general idea of Who will travel with us, What route we will take, Wen it will happen, Where we will be traveling to, Why we want to go, and how it will unfold. We set out to fulfill what we are hoping will happen. We make plans and execute them. Imagine our spiritual lives like a journey, a trip we take, suggesting travel or a passage from one place to another. Just what would our journey be like if we allowed God to guide us to the specific blessing He has planned for us? Imagine that the wishes God has planted deep within us are His Greates desires to fulfill. How compelling and meaningful our travels would be if we had Godspeed; the journey too...
