Pastoral Call Team – 09/16 Update

Senior Pastor Call Team

The Senior Pastor Call Team is excited to have received applications of several candidates from the Synod! The team is reviewing those profiles and preparing for potential interviews. Additionally, referred candidates submitted by the congregation are being reviewed for the possibility of moving on to the next steps in the process. Please continue to keep this team and candidates in your prayers.

As a reminder, anyone with Senior Pastor candidate recommendations can email called2call@goodshepherd-naperville.org. In your email, please provide the candidate’s name, their current church, and other relevant information.

In addition, Dawn Pulgine made the prayerful decision this week to step down from the Senior Pastor Call Team. As she transitions into her role as our new Adult Ministry Director, Council and Dawn have discerned that remaining on the Senior Pastor Call Team may lead to conflicts of interest in the future.

Since this team is five months into its formation, Council has discussed with the Senior Pastor Call Team, and they both believe it would be too disruptive to replace her. Per our Constitution, a Call Team requires a minimum of six people, and with Dawn’s departure, seven people remain on the team.

We support Dawn’s decision and trust the Holy Spirit will lead her to make a fruitful impact on our church. Through Dawn’s leadership, God will be glorified and ministries will flourish! We are excited to see what is to come!

Associate Pastor Call Team

Good progress has been made in laying the organizational groundwork for the team’s success! As they await the next steps, please continue to be in prayer for the future work of this team.
