Meet Him at the Cross – Sermon Series & Midweek Bible Study

New! Lenten Sermon Series & Midweek Bible Study

Starting Sunday, February 26

Meet Him at the Cross places you in the scene of Christ’s final hours as a participant, not a bystander. Much like the witnesses at Calvary, you will navigate both the Old and New Testaments, meeting and understanding your Savior’s saving work from beginning to end.

Through this, you will understand the theological significance of the elements used against Jesus during those agonizing hours leading to the cross. From the crown of thorns to the tomb, each element invites you to plunge into the narrative, drawing out increased biblical meaning and application for your life.

This seven-week sermon series and its partnered Bible Study will lead us throughout Lent, to Holy Week, to Easter weekend. At the conclusion of this study, we pray that you will greet your risen Savior and know His great passion for you!

How do I start the Bible Study?

Our Sunday morning Lenten Sermon Series is partnered with a 7-week “Meet Him at the Cross” Bible Study that will take place at our Lenten Midweek Services.

Each Lenten Midweek Service takes place on Wednesdays at 7 PM during Lent. Each service will be composed of teaching and discussion groups. Both elements will equip you to dive deeper into your study! Discussion groups will be held in Room 3AB from 8 – 9 PM.

This comprehensive study begins on Wednesday, March 1, and will end on Wednesday, April 12. We will not meet during Holy Week. Books are available to purchase at the Connect Center for $20 starting on Ash Wednesday.

Lastly, we are honored to share that Meet Him at the Cross was written by our very own Adult Ministry Director, Dawn Pulgine. A handful of churches in our local community are joining us in this impactful study. Good Shepherd is so blessed to host Meet Him at the Cross and be part of this very exciting launch!

Questions? Ready to jump in? Reach out to Heather Miller miller@goodshepherd-naperville.org to let us know you will be joining us for discussion groups! We will save you a seat.
