Shepherd’s Heart – 5/5

Last Sunday, we walked through the resurrection appearance of Jesus in John 21. One of the things we discovered together is God’s gifts of abundance. God is a God that gives and gives and gives – even today. In other words, we can trust in God’s provision for the future. It’s easy to slip into scarcity mindsets in today’s world – it’s understandable for the times that we worry that we won’t “have enough” – not enough time, not enough money, not enough energy, not enough creativity – but this framework is a framework of the world, not of the kingdom.

Annual Meeting

This coming Sunday, we will gather like we always do. But this is the one Sunday a year when we gather as a covenant community called to steward the resources of our church with eyes on the future for our Annual Meeting.

It hasn’t even been two months yet, but I have such a stirring in my Spirit for the future. I believe that we are pregnant with a vision and as we keep our eyes on Jesus and the Spirit’s leading, we will together witness new things birthed. My hope is that you will come – and come prayerful, come expectant, come with eyes on Jesus, and come with hope for the future. During our time together, we will break bread over lunch, I will share my heart and hopes and dreams for the future, we will hear reports from our Council, our CFO; we will approve the budget and vote on council members. Can’t make it in person? Join us on livestream.

Let us Pray

No matter what, being a people of prayer and reliance on the Spirit is what will guide us into the future. Anything other than that will be in vain without that. On Sunday, May 21st from 5:30pm – 7:00pm we will have our first of a series of Summer Worship and Prayer Nights. Mark your calendars, and come and gather as a church to seek God and God’s leading.

Have you been joining us in our 90-Day Prayer? Last month, I shared a prayer for us to pray as a congregation. If you haven’t started yet, there’s still time. Let us be a people of prayer.

So, today’s Shepherd’s Heart is short and simple, but I did want to make one final note. I will be preaching live in all 4 of our services on Sunday. We were able to make a few adjustments to make this possible, and I am excited for the possibilities this opens up. So, see you Sunday, Good Shepherd Church.

From my heart,

Pastor Tara Beth Leach
