Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. -Galatians 6:2
Lonely? Sad? Discouraged?
- Are you going through a tough time – emotionally and spiritually?
- Is life more than you can handle alone right now?
- Are you adjusting to a new job, changed marital status, serious illness, the death of a loved one, or a recent move?
- Have you been simply feeling down?
A Stephen Minister can HELP. Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who are called to this ministry. They are trained to listen, care, encourage, pray, and walk alongside you during difficult times while providing distinctively Christian care. Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need to support them through life’s hardships. This valuable care is confidential, free of cost, and very helpful.
Stephen Ministers are:
Someone to talk to
Someone to be trusted
Someone to be there with regular visits during times of crisis
Someone who does not “do for” but rather is “there for”
Stephen Ministers usually serve for two years, which includes an initial 65 hours of training followed by twice-monthly supervision by Stephen Leaders, as well as continuing education sessions. They are typically assigned one care receiver at a time and meet with that person for about one hour each week.
Our Stephen Ministers are there to care!
To learn how you – or a friend, neighbor, coworker, or relative – can receive care, please call the church office and ask to speak to a pastor.
