Charlotte Lyles
Chairperson
Charlotte Lyles is a member of the Senior Pastor call team; she began attending Good Shepherd in 2003. Good Shepherd was first on a list of churches she planned to visit, as she had recently relocated to Naperville. At that time, the church was doing a sermon series on The Purpose Driven Life. The powerful messages delivered in the sermons, the friendliness of the congregation and the power of the Holy Spirit put an end to Charlotte’s search for a new church home, without visiting any other congregations.
She became a member of Good Shepherd in 2004. You can usually find her at one of the Sanctuary services on Sunday mornings, where she frequently serves as lector and communion assistant. Charlotte is a part of Tuesday WEBS, and she leads a small group that was formed when Rooted was introduced last year.
She is also a member of the Africa Mission Team, and occasionally volunteers as a receptionist at the Connect Center. Charlotte spent the vast majority of her career in the pharmaceutical industry. Now that she’s retired, Charlotte enjoys golfing, swimming, gardening, cooking, volunteering, and traveling. She also provides marketing support to her brother’s business.
While Charlotte doesn’t have any biological children, she has become “Mum” to three young ladies in Nairobi. She also enjoys being “Auntie Charlotte” to her twin goddaughters. Since being discerned to the call team, Charlotte’s favorite scripture is Romans 8:28 - “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
