My wife, son, and I first started attending Good Shepherd in 1986 when it was worshipping in Saint Procopius Abbey in Lisle. I served on church council from 1988 to 1990, the last year as the CFO. I became the financial secretary of the church in 1990 and served to 2000 when it was moved from volunteers to paid staff. I was a member of the first Men’s CHRP (Christ Renews His Parish) team. I served on the Call Team with Pastor Gary, Pastor Glen and Kirsten Lauren-Kovitz which culminated in the calling of Craig Parsons. My most visible involvement has been as a member of the Festival Singers since 1986. I also sang with Eighth Day until it was disbanded around 2015.

Our son is now grown and married living in Atlanta, where he is a veterinarian. His wife is also a veterinarian, employed by the Atlanta Z00. My wife and I continue to participate in a small group Bible study with six other couples, the nucleus of which started from our Good Shepherd new member class. Good Shepherd has been and continues to be an important and integral part of spiritual life.

Through our years at Good Shepherd, we have seen this congregation of believers step out many times in faith. God has been faithful to Good Shepherd. May we continue to keep the main thing the main thing.
