Support Staff Pastor
Hi! I’m Pastor Paul and I can’t wait to meet you!
Here’s a little about I came to be at Good Shepherd. After studying Religion with a Psychology minor at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN I then received an M.Div. in Pastoral and Theological Training at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN, and was ordained as a pastor in 1986. I began serving congregations in and around Detroit and Chicago. Shortly after earning a D. Min. from Lutheran School of Theology in 2006, I was recruited and received special training for Interim Ministry.
In February, 2022 Good Shepherd called me to be an interim pastor. I love to use the tagline "God is Good, All the Time; and All the Time, God is Good”. Since 2005, I have been interim pastor in a dozen or so churches, including being Co-Convener of the Metro Chicago Synod Interim Ministers.
Pei (pronounced like “pay a bill”) and I were married in 2006, and we live in Bolingbrook, IL. Probably more than you wanted to know.
At Good Shepherd, my responsibilities are as a member of Council, working with Worship, Family Life Ministry, Disability Ministry, and Congregational Care teams. The Call Teams can use my resources and history of working with many previous interim congregations. I love to help and talk with any in the congregation and community during this time of transition.
