Shepherd’s Heart 10/27/23

I drove to church On Purpose today. That might seem like an odd thing to say, but there was a time I was intending to drive to another destination and instead pulled into the church parking lot. As soon as I pulled in, I realized that I was on autopilot and subconsciously drove to the church instead of the destination I intended. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of you have done the same thing before. Sometimes I even walk into rooms in my own house and realize that I was in the wrong room! But today, I came to church On Purpose to gather with a group of women for our Lead Bold Conference – I came to be fed, nourished, equipped, and edified.

How often do we forget to live our faith-walk On Purpose? I sometimes wonder how prone we are to wander away from the path God has for us and end up in a spiritual destination that we never really intended. This week, Pastor Greg will be in the Worship Center and I will be in the Sanctuary as we unpack what it means to Walk On Purpose. I look forward to opening the word with you, and I know it will be a great day of worship.

Veterans Day is just around the corner. On November 5th and 12th, we will have a prayer wall for you to come and write names of past and present veterans and offer up prayers for them, their health, their families, and their flourishing. This will be a wonderful activity to honor those from all branches of the military who have served our country and risked their lives for our freedom. The prayer wall will be located on the opposite wall of the Connect Desk. Join us in honoring and praying for these very brave men and women.

Good Shepherd, you are a community rich with blessings, I am thankful to call myself one of you, and I continue to be overjoyed to serve as your pastor.

From my Heart,

Pastor Tara Beth
