Annual Meeting Recap 2024
Good Shepherd Family,
Thank you all for your participation and prayers that went into the Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 5th. The Spirit is active in our congregation, and seeing our congregation come together for the Annual Meeting and several key votes about our future filled me with so much joy. Below you can see the results from each of these key votes.
Congregational Affiliation
After verification of all the ballots, the final results are as follows:
- Yes: 277 (96.9%)
- No: 9 (2.9%)
- Total Valid Votes: 286 (100%)
While 306 votes were cast in total, it’s important to note that 20 of these were unable to meet our established voting criteria.
Our collective decision, requiring a two-thirds majority as per our Constitution, was not only met but significantly surpassed. With 96.9% in favor, our congregation has faithfully chosen to embrace a new path. This decision authorizes the Council to disaffiliate from our current affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) to a new journey with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).
Spending Plan
After verification of all the ballots, the final results are as follows:
- Yes: 231 (99.6%)
- No: 1 (0.4%)
- Total Valid Votes: 232 (100%)
Constitution
After verification of all the ballots, the final results are as follows:
- Yes: 226 (97.4%)
- No: 1 (0.4%)
- Abstain: 5 (2.2%)
- Total Valid Votes: 232 (100%)
Church Council
We are thrilled to announce three new members to our Church Council.
- Kathy Felton
- Kevin Shirley
- Kristin Larson
We also are excited to put forward the Nominating Team of Kaylene Eschbach, Kathy Peart, David Campbell, Jackie Froschauer, Matt Hebel, and Ryan Philo who will serve a one year term to help discern next year’s council members.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the discernment process, both those of you who nominated individuals and those who were ultimately lifted up to the congregation. Please continue to pray for Good Shepherd as we look ahead to the many opportunities God has for us, and celebrate His abundant blessings.
Together, we are moving forward in faith.
